Just an Update on Me
December 1, 2006 at 10:50 am | In Christmas, Computer, Dell, Firefox, Firefox 2, HP, IE7, John Deere, Sauk Valley, dual-core processor, internet explorer | 1 CommentLately I’ve found myself at a race against time. It seems that school work will never stop. I’m sort of looking forward to Christmas break but kinda not b/c in a way, im losing one of my best friends here at western. Wait, I guess im not losing a friend, he’s just graduating. Yup, Ryan thats you, dont you feel special. We had alot of good times with Fifpro.
Anywho, so Im thinkin about buying an HP desktop computer for Christmas. My ol Dell laptop is startin to get slow on me. I bought it the summer before freshmen year, which totals up to almost 4 years old. Im planning on supping up this HP computer to a dual-core processor. That outta last me for a while.
A couple of weeks ago I got a job offer from Sauk Valley Community College to be a instructional software developer for thier courses. However, they wanted me to start in January! GUHHH, I have school til may. Im actually gonna wait anyways b/c i wanna hit it up for John Deere to be one of their software developers. They would pay ALOT better. Mehhh we’ll see. Time will tell. So, do i still have any readers???? I haven’t got any comments for a while. Except for the guy who bashed my IE7 vs. Firefox2 article, lol.
Video We Created for Class..

November 16, 2006 at 10:05 pm | In Thanksgiving, bored, break, coke, group project, jack daniels, soda, whiskey | Leave a Commentohhh crap… I guess I havent written for a while. Sorry people, i’ve just been crazy busy the past 2 weeks. I got a huge group project assigned a couple of weeks ago and we have to write a instructional lesson plan for mixing jack daniels whiskey w/ coke using standard bar measurements. Sounds simple?? NO. Thats what we thought too! This whole project is probably gonna end up being over 20 pages! Whats frustrating is that our teacher wants it to be broke down to the smallest possible detail. For example…how much whiskey, how much coke, what kind of plastic cup, what kind of mixing utensil, , what audience this would be intended for, and last but not least what is a standard bar measurement? Gets down deep, big time. Last night we had to video tape our procedure to make this, which was a blast, except for the part that we didnt know what to say at first. After the video we ended up and got pretty liquored up for our own project!
On another note, I’m gonna be home for the whoooole Thanksgiving break. Sounds cool, kinda, for the relaxtion part. But I have limited friend resources at home, since everyone is moved away! CALL me or something, pleaseeee.
Britney files for Divorce
November 8, 2006 at 9:53 am | In Britney, Britney Spears, Divorce, K-fed, Spears, celebrities, celebrity gossip, dancer, kevin Federline, rapper | Leave a CommentI usually don’t give a crap about celebrity gossip but I found this to be pretty interesting.. Britney Spears is saying bye-bye to K-Fed. She filed for divorce Tuesday from her husband, former backup dancer and rapper Kevin Federline. The Los Angeles County Superior Court filing cites “irreconcilable differences,” said court spokeswoman Kathy Roberts. Haha, wow, she finally realized that he was worthless all this time. Too bad she just had a baby w/ him…
Anyways, thought that was some pretty interesting news for all of you!
Haunted Tour of Macomb
November 3, 2006 at 2:12 am | In Illinois, Macomb Township, courthouse, halloween, haunted, haunted tour, macomb, macomb journal, square, tour | 13 CommentsSaturday night, Amy and I went to the haunted tour of Macomb! They only ended up charging us $10 b/c we had a small group. First, we went to basement of the courthouse, which turned out to be a lot spookier than I imagined. Through the way of the courthouse, the leaders would tell some haunting stories that happened there to set the mood. As we walked through and went up to the higher levels, they told us that they had motion lights here in the courthouse and they are known to turn on when no one is even near it. Guess what, as we were all about 40 feet from that part of the courthouse, the motion lights came on. Hmmmmm. I don’t know. Alot of people claim that they saw haunting shadows and orbs (dust, lol). Buuutt, I didn’t see anything.
Next we walked over the the Macomb Journal building (right next to the old Maurice’s in the square). Went to the basement, which looked alot like the basement of the house on ‘The Blair Witch Project.’ Above the Macomb Journal, there were three floors of abandoned motel rooms. We went to the 3rd floor, where they called the floor of evil. They even dubbed one of the room’s “The Satan Room.” I did not go near! That sort of stuff freaks me out! There was a long hallway, and they had people walk down the dark black hallway alone. Some said they heard voices, knocks, evil shadows. I was ready to get out of there! After there, we walked all the way across the square and went into the basement of an Antique building. There was NOTHING special about that place. They had just mentioned that it used to be an old morgue and burned bodies. The tour ended up lasting around 2 1/2 hours in all. Definitely worth going. I recommend going next year…
Internet Explorer 7 vs. Firefox 2
October 31, 2006 at 2:48 am | In Blogroll, Browser, Computers, Cons, Firefox 2, IE 7, Internet Explorer 7, Positive, Pros, RSS feeds, internet, phishing, tabs | 2 CommentsSo how does everyone like the new Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2????
IE7 Positive features:
-Cool new look (interface)
-IE7 finally has tabs!!!
-RSS feeds
-Searching the internet directly from the browser at the top right
-Being able to report Phishing web sites that can protect you against malicious software
-Plug-in devices
![]()
Firefox 2 Positive features:
-New bookmark and History system
-Tabbed browsing w/ improvements
-New visual theme
-In-line spell check (I like a lot!)
-Fully integrated RSS functionality
-Anti-phishing
-Being able to have different themes
-Plug-in devices
-Runs on multiple platforms
IE7 Cons:
-Only runs on windows platforms
-Uses a lot of CPU usage
Firefox 2 Cons:
-Very sluggish and often hangs when clicking on links or using the scroll wheel
-Having to re-download extensions, ex. Flash Player, Themes.
As you can see, both browsers have made some major improvements. If I were to pick one that is better, I would have to say IE7 for a better interface and Firefox 2 for faster performance. I cant decide on one! Anybody have any suggestions?? Let me know what you think about these browsers…

Evanescence Concert this past weekend…
October 16, 2006 at 4:22 am | In Concert, Evanescence, Milwaukee, Revalation Theory, Wisconsin, amy lee | 4 Comments
This weekend Amy and I went up to Milwaukee, WI to go see Evanescence in concert!! The concert was on Saturday and we had the worst time getting there b/c of all the highway construction and stuff, and of course there were no detour signs. So, that left us lost for about 2 hours in total! Was NOT fun at all. We ended up and got there about 10 minutes before the concert started. A band named Revalation Theory opened for them. Seemed like a pretty cool band, but I reallllly feel sorry for them b/c their sound man sucked bigtime! You couldn’t even hear the vocals or the guitar; it was rediculous. Half an hour later after Revelation Theory was done, Evanescence finally came out. Amy and I ended up being about 15 feet from the side of the stage, so we got a pretty good view (set aside the 3 people that were like 6′5” in front of us). For this tour, Evanescence is promoting their new album, The Open Door (which is amazing). They started off with the first song off of the new album, Sweet Sacrifice. This is one of my favorite in all. Amy Lee was just so….beautiful. She came out on stage w/ a black wifebeater w/ a pink tu tu lol. I have to say it was pretty hot. They also played: Lithium, Call me when you’re sober, Going Under, Bring me to Life, My Immortal, Cloud Nine, Lacrymosa, Haunted, Your Star, Whisper, and a few others off of their new album. Anyways, the concert kicked ass. I took some video’s w/ my Razr phone and they actually turned out not too bad. Im gonna upload them on youtube.com so that i can upload them on here. Check back later!!
